PCB Override

A PCB override lets you set a specific tax amount (PCB / MTD) for an employee, instead of letting the system calculate the monthly tax.

When to use it

Only in special cases — for example, following a specific instruction, or to match a figure agreed with the tax authority. Normally the system calculates the correct monthly tax for you.

How to add it

  1. In the menu, go to Payroll → Payroll Items → PCB Override.
  2. Choose the employee.
  3. Enter the tax amount to use for the period.
  4. Click Save.

For that period, the system uses your amount instead of the calculated tax.

warning

Tax is calculated across the whole year, so changing one month by hand can affect the rest of the year. Only override if you are sure of the correct figure, ideally with advice from the tax authority or your accountant.

note

This is different from CP38, which is an extra deduction on top of normal tax. A PCB override replaces the normal tax figure.
